What have I learnt in this module?
Throughout the Design Principles module, I've really enjoyed the journey. Since I had taken the Design Basics module during my foundation year, the Design Principles module felt familiar but a bit more advanced. Thus, I would say I have learned more about it. Even though I could understand most of the design principles, putting them into practice with the chosen artwork proved challenging. It challenges me to examine the details more closely. The researches for the artist's artwork taught me how to analyze their creations thoroughly. Not just that, I also understand more about the art movement of Surrealism as during the first task, I have chosen an image which relates to it. With Dr JinChi's guidance and explaination during the feedback session, I knew a little more about its history.
What did I enjoy the most
I enjoyed exploring and browsing through artists' artworks during the first task. I also enjoyed creating my own artwork in the final task although it was challenging and took quite some time. However, the outcome was greater than expected.
What did I not enjoy the most?
I'd say coming up with an idea was challenging and slightly not enjoyable, I took really much time on it, which causes me a delay in progress.(I really should stop thinking too much everytime and just start on my assignments😓)
What have I learnt about myself in this module?
I have learnt that we as students should often seek for help from lecturer, they could provide support and assist us to come up with a better work. For myself, I realized that I am also able to create artworks with deep meanings behind it, similar to the inspiring artworks from artists on platforms like Pinterest.
What has changed and what have not in my learning journey?
I tend to be more observant when it comes to design principles throughout the tasks, still need practice though. What has not changed is my art style, I still use the same art style(for drawing and watercolour) and I am eager to explore new styles in the future! Additionally, my willingness and openness to learn remain constant.
What could be improved in this module?
The module itself is great overall, in my opinion. (wrote the wrong question and submitted in my blog PDF D:)
